We are Darla Courtney and Portia Danis: recent graduates from UW-Madison who met in a documentary film production class and discovered our shared interest for cinema and video art. We have collaborated on several video art projects, while in college and for fun, and continue to encourage and push each other as artists and filmmakers. We both do freelance video work and we decided to stop working for others and start working for ourselves. We started Cerulean Pictures production company in mid-March 2015 to make a name for ourselves in the independent film scene. Our passion is in film and the arts and we strive to share our vision with the world.

We inspire each other and have found inspiration in artists and filmmakers including: Nam June Paik, Sadie Benning, Maya Deren, Frida Kahlo, David Lynch, Terry Gilliam, Nao Bustamante, Pipilotti Rist, Harmony Korine, Lou Reed, Frank Zappa, Patti Smith, and our former college professors, Bill Brown and Doug Rosenberg.
